	What do I wear to gymnastics class?                 The most comfortable and safe gymnastics attire for girls is a leotard, with or without tight fitting lycra shorts. Hair must always be pulled back into a ponytail or similar "out of the way" style, for children with shorter hair a half up style is usually preferred, if possible. For your trial class, it is suitable to wear shorts and a t-shirt that is either tight fitting or tucks in. Many younger girls choose to wear their one-piece bathing suits. When you do purchase a leotard, be sure that there are no loose pieces (skirts, frills, straps, etc.). Also, if you wear tights make sure that there are no feet on them, so that your feet don't slip on the beam. The most comfortable attire for boys will be athletic style shorts or pants and a t-shirt. The tighter fitting the clothing the less likely it is to get in the way, but it must also be "stretchy" or loose enough so that movement isn't restricted.
